You are purchasing one reproduction chrome three channel luggage rack and mount kit for 1949 and 1957 Harley-Davidson rigid frame panhead models. This rack fits only these years though it will fit a'48 model if using a later model slab side fender. This will NOT fit swing arm models from 1958 and up.

Supports are 7 1/4" distance measuring from the inside, mounting holes are spaced approximate at 9 3/4" center to center which also happens to match up with four hole leather saddlebag mount plates. These could be mounted either with or without the bags in place. If you do mount over bag plates, loosen the rod nuts under the channels first then tighten those back up after you tighten down the rack to the bag plates.

The mount kit is complete and includes the correct mounting studs, correct inner and outer nuts. The outer nuts do not utilize a lock washer, we highly recommend securing these with Loc-Tite.

Finish on the carrier is chrome, finish on the hardware is cadmium. Stud size is 1/4", if your fender is not already drilled this kit requires you drill four 1/4" holes in your fender sides. There is no drill template with this, it will require you to do some measuring and layout. We can change out the cadmium outer nuts for chrome, just send us a message when you check out that you need chrome outer nuts. Originals are usually scraped up or bent over from carrying passengers on it, so it's nice someone is finally making these as they are a hard part to replace.
